Hello Everyone,

I have been very busy as of late crocheting and working on a few designs in my head and on paper. Since some of my more recent projects are not complete yet, I will share with you the projects I have managed to finish since my last post.
I will include a sentence or two to describe each project.

The Lumberjack Flannelghan (http://inspiredcrochetdesign.blogspot.com/2007/09/free-pattern-lumberjack-flannelghan.html)

My brother-in-law apparently really likes it and uses it almost everyday. This was crocheted with two strands held together throughout. Yarn: Caron One Pound

This was a Christmas gift for a friend of mine that requested dragon scale as a theme. Yarn: Red Heart Boutique Changes in Aquamarine and Jade. Crocheted holding one strand of each color together.

These were going to be like handcuffs, but I hadn’t finished them before I went to see my friend and she saw them like this and she ADORED them. I needed a lot of help with these, as I had to make up the pattern for them and cross stitch the rainbow heart on both.

(*Note: The same friends that received the Dragon scale scarf and the Seme-Uke Wristbands were the same ones that took, edited and arranged the photos of them.)

Image This was a headband I made for one of my little cousins. I made the headband pattern up but the flower pattern I got by doing a simple Google search.

Image This was my first attempt at a crochet bow. It is black and yellow because I am a Hufflepuff and those are the Hufflepuff House colors. I aim to get better at making crochet bows because they are so dang CUTE!

ImageA crocheted flower bracelet. I made this only as an example for a friend who was attending a craft fair and said she had a lot of crocheted flowers and she needed more ideas for uses. I wasn’t explaining myself very well, so I whipped this little thing up and showed it to her.

I have more projects on the hook, at the moment. I will tell you more about them later.

Projects Galore!! ^w^

Hello!!

I have been away for a while, but I have not neglected my crocheting. It’s why I have been away for so long. ^^’

Various projects have been added to my list of things to make, and some of them have deadlines (birthdays), so its crunch time! *Grrrrrr!!!* lol I’m gearing up to getting them all done, hopefully on time.

And I just realized that one of them reaches deadline in . . .3 weeks!? Oh no!! I haven’t started that project yet!! *Hastily puts away current project (not due until the end of July) and digs out the pattern and yarn, throwing the rest of the yarn and patterns all over the place* lol

The project(s) that are due in 3 weeks are a Sushi Scarf (pattern by TwinkieChan) and adult Mary Jane Slippers. Yes, I am aware that it is warm out (most of the time, lol), but I want my friend to have it for next winter. She loves sushi, so this seems to be perfect for her. I got the idea for the Mary Jane slippers while I was randomly flipping through Ravelry’s patterns. My friend loves the pair of Mary Jane’s that she owns, so I figure she might like a comfy crochet pair to wear around the house and whatnot.

I have a couple of different patterns for the Mary Jane slippers, but one of them does not provide clear instructions for sizing when making it for someone else, rather than yourself, so I am pretty sure that I will be using the pattern I found here on WordPress by The Little House By The Sea.

Crocheted Mary Jane slippers

My other projects include gag gifts for another friend of mine. Part of it is a tiara and wand/scepter. It’s from Crochet Today!’s magazine, the holiday crochet list. Her chosen user name (sometimes) is YaoiPrincess. A different friend of mine said this would be a cute litte cosplay/gag gift for her, and at the time, I thought so, too. Now I am second guessing it. She is so unpredictable sometimes. She will love it because I made it for her, but would she look twice if I didn’t?? I don’t know.

Another part of this gag gift thing is crochet handcuffs (more like manacles) lol. I knew she would like these. They are the project I have to set down so I can get to the Sushi Scarf. lol I actually have to make this pattern up. I was randomly flipping around on DeviantArt, an art site that I frequent, and found these.

I have permission from the person who made these to try my hand at crocheting a pair. ^.^ I was so excited that once I had their permission, I grabbed my hook and yarn and set to work. lol The rainbow part is actually a rainbow heart on the opposite side of the cuffs. I only just realized that my trial version is. . .eh. And a little tight. So, throwing those into my trial versions box, I set out to make a better version. I will post pictures of the trial version later. I have to go to work soon.

Also, my sister’s fiance has asked me to make him an afghan quilt. Not sure what that is. I looked up random afghan patterns until I found one I thought suited him. He loved the pattern pictures, so I will be (maybe) making him a Lumberjack Flannelghan.

Imagine this in an in-your-face red and yellow. His choices. The pattern calls for approximately 5-7 pounds of Caron Simply Soft yarn, all together. So, about 3 pounds or so each of red and yellow. I haven’t even finished a baby blanket I started months ago! How the hey am I going to finish this!? I suppose it is a good thing that it is crocheted in five strips.

Off to work now!! I will probably update this post tomorrow (I don’t get home till around 11, most nights I work).

Bye!
